Dominique Kennedy, originally from Sydney, relocated to the suburbs of Newcastle 12 years ago to be closer to her family. A devoted single mother, she has dedicated much of her life to raising her two children while sharing her home with a beloved and spoilt collection of cats. Her creative journey began early, nurtured by her mother’s profound passion for the arts and encompassing music, visual arts, literature, and dance.

In the early 2000s, Dominique discovered a love for web and graphic design, which led her to a successful career in the corporate sector, where she refined her skills and expanded her creative repertoire. Since the birth of her children, she has transitioned into freelance work, applying her expertise across graphic design, web development, illustration, and fine art. While she does not have formal fine art training, her years of design experience have provided a strong foundation for her artistic practice. Her professional skills include social media graphic content, video production, and marketing communications, bringing a modern, dynamic perspective to her work.

Dominique’s artistic vision is deeply influenced by her fascination with the supernatural, religious iconography, and the cultural aesthetics of her formative years. Her work explores themes of duality—good and evil, truth and fiction, light and dark—often interwoven with a profound sense of nostalgia and longing. Her creations range from delicately evocative to boldly striking, reflecting her versatility as an artist. In addition to her painting, Dominique expresses her creativity through the design of unique jewelry and intricately embellished, one-of-a-kind accessories.

In 2020, during the global Covid-19 pandemic, Dominique fully committed to her artistic practice. Her work now includes a diverse array of private commissions, with paintings and works featured in homes and businesses across New South Wales and the USA. She has collaborated with musicians, authors, performers, and public figures, earning recognition as a skilled and multidimensional artist.
